Joy is Justice Kickoff Brings Community Together

Community members, partners, and neighbors gathered to connect, share experiences, and help launch a growing movement for pretrial justice in Minnesota.

Last Thursday, neighbors, community members, and partners gathered for the community kickoff of the Pretrial Justice Minnesota coalition, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to connect with one another, learn more about the policy changes we’re fighting for, and share your experiences with Minnesota’s pretrial system. Bringing people together to learn, connect, and build a shared vision for a fairer pretrial system is an important part of building the momentum for change.

We know that access to freedom can still depend on access to money. Changing that will take all of us — people directly impacted by the pretrial system, community members, advocates, organizers, and partners — working together toward a safer and more equitable path forward.

This kickoff was just the beginning. We’re grateful to everyone who showed up and helped make the evening possible, and we’re excited to keep building with communities across Minnesota.
