Get Involved
There are many ways to stay informed and support the movement for pretrial justice in Minnesota. Join the Pretrial Justice Coalition as an active member, sign up for our network, or volunteer with Minnesota Freedom Fund’s Court Watch program to ensure the pretrial system does not operate in the dark.
Join the Coalition
Members of the coalition are values-aligned organizations, advocacy groups, and criminal legal professionals from across the state, working together to advance pretrial justice in Minnesota. We meet regularly to build community, discuss our shared goals, and make decisions about the direction of our movement.
Join the Pretrial Justice Network
The Pretrial Justice Network is a community of organizations, advocacy groups and criminal legal professionals who support pretrial justice in Minnesota. Members of the network receive regular communications from the coalition, amplify news and calls to action, and educate their supporters about pretrial justice in our state.
Volunteer
Volunteer with Minnesota Freedom Fund’s Court Watch program to ensure the pretrial system does not operate in the dark.
Court Watch Trainings
We encourage everyone who wishes to volunteer as a court watcher to attend a training event or complete a training module online (coming soon). Trainings will help you understand what to look for and how to take notes, and provide effective support.
Court Watch Shifts
Our organizers host court watching sessions in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties in Minnesota. We’re in Ramsey Co. on the 4th Monday of each month at 9 a.m., and in Hennepin Co. on the 1st Thursday and 2nd Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
